About this Opportunity
Day-Use Park Gatehouse Volunteer:
Volunteer Duties:
Must be a couple, no single volunteers will be selected due to extent of job duties.
Will work 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM either a Thursday & Friday shift, or Saturday & Sunday shift. The shifts will rotate with two couples in each park. Holiday weekends will have different schedules.
Must be available for all assigned weekend 2 day shifts and holidays throughout entire season (March through September).
Must be able to clear a Federal Background Check.
Will be responsible for operating the gatehouse within a Day-Use Park. This includes passing out brochures, answering general information questions, and ensuring compliance of customers when paying Day-User Fees via automated credit card machine.
Volunteers will issue USACE Annual Passes to those who purchase pass/passes via automated credit card machine.
There will be no handling of fees from the public, all payments are processed through automated credit card machines.
Volunteers will also be required to perform random compliance checks of Day-Users within park and notify discrepancies to Park Rangers.
Volunteers will also be required to perform parking checks to ensure that Day-Use Park does not become filled over capacity. When parks do become full, volunteers will be responsible for closing the park to the public.
10. Volunteers must provide their own uniform. This includes khaki pants or shorts (knee length) with red or white polos. A name tag will be provided by the project.
Special Skills:
Must have exceptional customer service skills.
Previous experience working a gatehouse is a bonus.
Ability to speak Spanish highly desired.
