About this Opportunity
National Public Lands Day:
September 29, 2020
National Public Lands Day is the day each year the public is invited to donate time and energy for the benefit of the environment. The staff of Old Hickory Lake invites you to join them on Saturday, September 29, 2020, for the 25th annual observance to help make the lakes a cleaner and more beautiful place.
This year the Corps of Engineers is looking for volunteers to help with Arboretum Recertification, Beautification, Bird Box enhancement and Trail Blazing at the Environmental Study Arboretum in Hendersonville, TN. We’re also in search of volunteers who would like to dedication their time to this area annually as their contribution to the community.
If you are interested in assisting in this project or would like more information, call (615) 822-4846. Pre-registration with Ranger Pamela Backus is appreciated and will allow planners to supply enough equipment.
“Can’t Make It This Year”: That’s alright, we appreciate volunteer services year-round! If you would like to schedule a different date to volunteer or give back to your community in a different way give us a call or check for posted volunteer positions on the Corps website www.corpslakes.us/volunteer.
