About this Opportunity
One person or couple, 18 years of age or older and possessing a valid driver’s license, with a self-contained RV/trailer (if you plan to stay on-site) to work as a Natural Resources / Recreation Maintenance Volunteer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers day-use facilities – Otter Brook Lake / Surry Mountain Lake in Keene & Surry, NH. Volunteers may be required to pass a background check. The volunteer position is available from mid-May through mid-September. Volunteers will perform light maintenance duties, which may include: painting, staining, general carpentry, trail maintenance, weeding and trimming. Each Volunteer will work a minimum of 24 hours / week, in between the hours of 7am-3:30pm, Monday - Friday. Hours and days worked in between those timeframes are negotiable. Government equipment will be made available to the volunteer(s), after all safety training and certifications are obtained. In exchange for volunteering, the volunteer(s) will be provided a campsite at Surry Mountain Lake, with water, sewer and electric hookup.
