Natural Resources Assistant:
Dates: This Positon is Year Round 2020
Paint Creek Lake is located on Paint Creek, which originates 30 miles southwest of Columbus, Ohio. From Columbus take Route 23 South to Chillicothe. From Chillicothe take Route 50 West for 20 miles to Paint Creek Lake. When coming from Hillsboro take Route 50 East for 20 miles to the lake. The Corps of Engineers office is located on Rapid Forge Road off of Route 50. The State Park office is located on Route 50.
Description: A volunteer is needed to assist the Natural Resources Specialist in completing regular duties and special projects during the off season.
Volunteer Duties:

Staffing the Visitor Center and assisting visitors with questions, directions and area information

Trail Maintenance, including litter removal and clearing encroaching vegetation

Assist the Ranger with designing and executing interpretive programs/special events to promote public education and water safety.

Assist the Ranger in marking boundary, including identifying and reporting trespasses and encroachments.

Building and maintaining birdhouses, bat houses and flowerbeds
Special Skills:
-
Public speaking/interpretive skills

Able to lift 25 pounds and operate standard tools and equipment

Willing to work outside in all types of weather for varying lengths of time
