Melvern Lake is actively recruiting for one (1) Outlet Park Beach Gate Host (couple preferred). This position will not be responsible for handling user fees, only to direct customers to the self-pay fee vault. This volunteer position requires 20 hours of work per week. Mostly weekend duties with sporadic work-week hours on occasion. This position could be cut short before September 15th, depending on the presence/absence of Harmful Blue Green Algae.
Volunteers are required to have a valid driver’s license, complete a US Army Corps of Engineers chosen defensive driving course if volunteer vehicle is required, and be willing to work weekends throughout the summer-especially holidays.
This will be an indoor/outdoor position. Manning the Gate House requires indoor work as well as outdoor work talking with the public and education them on how/when/where to pay their day use fees. USACE Park Rangers will be available for assistance throughout the open beach hours, but not directly supervising this position 24/7.
Applicants must have good communication, people skills and be willing to speak freely with the public.
