About this Opportunity
Campground Host/Light Maintenance/Gate Attendant/Staffing Visitor Center:
Center Hill Lake is looking for couples or individuals who love to camp and would be interested in volunteering for a summer position.
Locations: Floating Mill Recreation Area, Ragland Bottom Recreation Area, Long Branch Recreation Area, and Center Hill Lake Interpretive Volunteer. Depending on location, typical duties may include: being a point of contact for visitors, staffing Day-Use areas, collecting money, meeting and greeting campers, promoting the Corps water safety initiative, light maintenance duties, trail maintenance, promoting and assisting with campground programs, staffing the visitor center, assisting in interpretive and water safety programs, and other duties that may arise throughout the season.
Hours required: Working minimum of 20 hours per week (including weekends and holidays).
Special Skills: Ability to be bonded and capable of handling recreation use fees, ability to communicate effectively with the public, ability to maintain a set schedule and turn in progress report of duties performed and willingness to commit to a long term agreement.
