About this Opportunity
Pikes Ridge Campground Host:
Green River Lake is looking for a couple or single person who is very friendly, people-oriented, and loves to camp to help serve our team as a Volunteer Campground Host (s).
Detailed Description: Dates and Hours required: May through September, 2020, working 15 to 20 hours per week (including weekends and holidays). Hosts would have 5 days on and 2 days off per week.
Duties: Typical Duties would include: being a point of contact for visitors, meet and greet campers, promote the Corps water safety initiative, supervise the recreational equipment rental and loner lifejacket programs, promote and assist with campground programs, supervise the movie night program, and some minor maintenance work within the campground and/or recreation area (trail cleanup, painting, etc..) Other duties may be assigned as needed or requested.
Requirements:
Host must provide their own camper (must be in good repair and appearance).
Ability to communicate effectively with the public.
Ability to maintain a set schedule and turn in progress report of duties performed.
Willingness to commit to a long term agreement.
Work Environment: This position requires the individual (s) to live and work in a campground environment. The position requires the individuals to work outdoors working independently or with partner if host is a couple. It can be expected that USACE staff will regularly check-in with the individual (s) and a daily log will be filled out with the days accomplishments.
A Background check is required and the Potential Volunteer will not handle/manage user fees!
