Big Brothers Big Sisters isa donor-supported volunteer organization that places caring adults in the lives of children through 1-to-1 mentoring relationships. By the positive impact of these friendships, children with a Big Brother or Big Sister are more likely to graduate from high school and are less likely to begin using drugs, begin using alcohol or engage in negative conflict.

Volunteers must meet the following requirements

• Complete Big Brothers Big Sisters application
• Attend Orientation
• Complete a background check
• Volunteer a minimum of 2 hours per month
• Volunteer will receive a membership from the YMCA Houston for volunteering.
